Thankfully, it seems as though my ire regarding the Rainbow Six Vegas 2 pre-order bonuses was a little harsh. Now the game's out, it turns out that the infamous gun and map for pre-ordering from different retailers only require good old-fashioned cheat codes to unlock; codes I'm happy to present to you now.

So, Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is less than two weeks away. I'm stoked. It's the sequel to one of my favourite games this generation, and it looks set to improve on the first in many different ways. It also makes me angry. Really, really angry.

The faces of Xbox Live Arcade PDF Print E-mail

The last few months have been rather divisive on Xbox Live Arcade. Releases have tended towards extremes, perhaps not so much in quality as in gamers' opinions of them. Some of the platform-within-a-platform's recent offerings have been bona-fide classics, from Rez to Metal Slug 3 to GripShift, all ported games that originally underperformed at retail but were nevertheless much-loved on other systems, for good reason. Original games that have turned out to be remarkable include Poker Smash, Omega Five, and Arkadian Warriors - perhaps not outright classics, but solid games that have their fans. Sadly, some of the recent stinkers have been arcade ports that were actually anticipated: Tempest, Asteroids/Asteroids Deluxe and Tron simply haven't aged as well as most would've hoped, while some original offerings have passed by with barely more than a flicker, like Boogie Bunnies, Chessmaster Live and Screwjumper.

A factory-sealed copy of Chrono Trigger for the SNES has sold for a whopping $1,217. Now, it's pretty well known that Chrono Trigger is one of the most sought-after games of its era, if not ever. But it raises the question, will any games of this (or even the last) generation ever reach such heights of legendariness? There are a handful of PS1 and Saturn games that command high prices, but bear in mind this Chrono Trigger just went for the equivalent of three copies each of Radiant Silvergun and Panzer Dragoon Saga.

Burnout Paradise has proven to be a big hit, but its brand of open-world racing and destruction isn't a party that all Xbox 360 owners are invited to. Videogamer.com reports that the game will not allow players access to the multiplayer portion of the game if their console isn't equipped with a hard drive.
